The interior is printed a tri-tone (3 color black & white image) with spot varnish on the images to help them pop off the page. Vivian Maier worked as a nanny and housekeeper for about 40 years in Chicago. In her spare time she took more than 150,000 photographs throughout major US cities. Her work was unknown and unpublished until after her death in 2009. She is also the subject of the documentary film Finding Vivian Maier (2013), nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary 2015.
